GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Guidance Counsellor to join our dedicated counselling team. This is a fixed-term, part-time position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of rangatahi within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

You will work collaboratively with students, staff, wh膩nau, and external agencies to support student wellbeing, resilience, and learning success. The role includes:
- Providing confidential counselling services to students and the wider school community.
- Supporting students with personal, emotional, social, and academic challenges.
- Facilitating mediation and support plans for students and staff.
- Engaging with external agencies such as CAMHS, AOD, Oranga Tamariki, and Youth Justice.
- Upholding the NZAC Code of Ethics and participating in external supervision.
We鈥檙e looking for someone who
- Has a degree in counselling or if equivalent qualification has experience working with counselling models of practice
- Is a registered member of NZAC (or equivalent).
- Has experience working with youth in an educational or counselling setting.
- Demonstrates cultural responsiveness and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of confidentially and has experience working with risk assessment
- Is proactive, empathetic, and a strong communicator.
- Can work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

LEARNING ASSISTANT听
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our hardworking learning support team. This person will contribute to our positive culture and understand how strong relationships enhance personal growth for young people.
The successful applicant will have proven experience in providing support to learners with identified needs and must have sympathy for the needs of young people, showing initiative and independence in meeting those needs. The ability to communicate with both learners and staff is essential.
